Practice Equipment Fund

The money the Practice gets from the NHS is only sufficient for the  day to day running of the surgery and there is often barely enough for that. Obviously, we need various items of equipment to enable us to provide the sort of service you have learnt to expect from us at both the Highcliffe and Mudeford surgeries.
For that reason we have set up the Practice Equipment Fund to enable us to collect monies from various sources including donations, and use it for the benefit of the entire Practice.

A few examples of how the fund might be used

Oximeter and pulse monitors are extremely useful little devices and every doctor would like to have at least one in their kit but with prices from £500 up to £900 each not every Practice can afford them. There are versions of these units that are also invaluable in sleep apnoea monitoring programs.

Even something as essential as a doctors bag can be an expensive item with prices ranging from £250 up to £600 for a properly fitted case and that's without any of its necessary contents which can easily add another £300 to the total.

Every Practice needs at least one state of the art ECG machine and with the number of patients registered at Highcliffe there should ideally be three but at over £3,000 each the current budget won't stretch to £9,000 without something else suffering.

If you have any ideas about fund raising or would like to make a donation to the Practice, please contact the Practice Manager who is always pleased to discuss anything that might help the Practice Equipment Fund.
