APPOINTMENTS

CONSULTATIONS WITH DOCTORS BY PHONE
If you ring the Practice to make an appointment with a doctor but feel your problem could be resolved over the phone, you can request a TELEPHONE CONSULTATION.  You will be allocated a time slot just like a regular appointment and the doctor will telephone you as near to the allocated time as they can. However, it is unlikely that new medication or antibiotics will be prescribed without a face to face consultation.

APPOINTMENT WITH A DOCTOR OR NURSE
FROM THE END OF JANUARY 2007 ALL MORNING AND AFTERNOON CONSULTATIONS WILL BE BY APPOINTMENT ONLY
All requests for appointments should be made by telephone on weekdays

Telephone 01425 272203
between 8:30AM and 4:00PM

No appointments will be available at reception. If, when you phone, there are no appointments available, don't worry, as a doctor will phone you at the end of afternoon surgery to discuss your problem and decide what's best to be done.

NEED TO KNOW A RESULT and HOSPITAL FOLLOW UP
For test results please ring your doctors secretary any weekday afternoon between 2.30 to 5.00pm.
If you have been seen by a Specialist at the hospital and been told to make an appointment with your GP for results or revised medication, it is advisable to first ring your doctors secretary to see if you actually need to attend the surgery. The Practice is usually happy to prescribe medication on the advice of the Specialist without the patient having to come into the surgery. Also straight forward test results will be given over the phone.

REPEAT PRESCRIPTIONS
Tick required medication on your prescription counterfoil and drop it into the surgery.
If you are participating in one of the pharmacy collection services,  indicate the chemist preferred.
Allow at least three working days before collecting prescription from the surgery.

If you would prefer to synchronise your repeat prescription requests so that you can order all your medication at the same time each month, the doctors would like to help. Next time you request a repeat prescription, work out how many of each item you require for a 4 week period and enter this number alongside each item and write "PLEASE SYNCHRONISE," at the foot of the request sheet, the Practice will then revise your records accordingly.
